[Event] Batallas: Eptos Uno Vs. Ill Mascaras
January 12, 2015  //  By:   //  Events  //  No Comment   //   1419 Views

It’s was the return of the biggest Spanish rap Freestyle battles of LA, Velorio Liga De Batallas.  Freestyle rappers from the LA and surrounding areas came together again in one place to battle and spit their finest, most eloquent verses at each other.

The Freestyle battle competition has been growing on a global scale. Corporations like Red Bull have been organizing international competition for about 8 or 10 years now. A few years ago Red Bull had attempted hold one in the Los Angeles area. but unfortunately it was proven to not be as successful as it was it had been across Latin America and parts of Europe.

That was until recently when a  group of Spanish spitting MC’s started host their own events. The events are no where near the size of the events that are originated by Red Bull, but can be conceded successful, with about 100 to 150 heads at $10 a head hosted at small venues. This time around the $10 also included free tacos. There were a few live performances by local acts as well, which for the most part were rather boring to watch. Their sets were too long.  I find that a lot of times underground artist have a hard time known which songs to perform live and which ones not to perform.  Other than that the event was fun and had a great, safe environment.

The next Velorio Liga De Batallas event is scheduled for some time in March.  As details start to leak I will sure post them on here.  I highly recommend that you follow Velorio Liga De Batallas on social media and stay up to date with any updates.
