December 21, 2015  //  By:   //  Dance, Music  //  No Comment   //   502 Views

Frankie J returns with a new single and music video titled “Breakin’ and with it he brings back Freestyle dance music with him. Frankie no stranger to Freestyle and because early on in his career Frankie drop a series Freestyle singles he is perhaps the best man for the job of building on the buzz was jump-started earlier in the year when the Los Angeles duo Wild Style dropped their Freestyle single “Take Me Home” which received the most attention any non-classic Freestyle song has received since the days of Angelina, Rockell and Jocelyn Enriquez.

Freestyle music has seen its ups and downs in the last decade and although its not as popular as it was back in the late 80’s “Breakin”captures the production, lyrical and interpretation style of the classic songs of the late that has kept artist like Stevie B and George LaMond touring for years. . “Breakin’s” has  an official release date of Christmas Day, 2015, but you can catch the full video on Frankie’s YouTube channel now. The single will be available in both a full English version as well as in a Spanglish mix. This should be pretty exciting news for Freestyle fans as the single could possibly help break Freestyle out of the underground where it’s remained now for the last 15 years or so. But truth be told, it’s going to take more than just one or two singles to bring a whole genre back to the spotlight, but it’s definitely a start. In fact 2015 has been the year that I’ve seen the most Freestyle music videos hit YouTube.
