January 25, 2015  //  By:   //  Events  //  No Comment   //   986 Views

Velorio Liga De Batallas just released their most anticipated video of the Rap Battle between the Mexico based rapper Eptos Uno and the Los Angeles, CA based Ill Mascaras. We have been reporting about these Velorio Liga De Batallas events over the last few months. Not only is the event fun, but the good vibes felt all around. I have fun going to the Velorio events.

In recent years Freestyle battles have become more structured. With the raising popularity of rap battling, you are likely to run into a battle in any city you travel to, domestic and internationally. In Los Angeles, CA you can even find the battles in Spanish.  Big market share companies such as Red Bull have turned Freestyle events into an international movement, organizing Spanish language Freestyle battles all over the world as if it were a sporting international sporting finals,

The underground and independent Hip Hop world is night and day with the stuff you hear on the radio and see on TV. Make no mistake, today Hip Hop in deep in bedded with Pop culture. You see Hip Hop on TV, radio, movies, at the mall and just about everywhere and everything you can think of, across the globe.

Then there is the Hip Hop culture it’s self, where you can easily find rappers, who earn their stripes by battling other MC’s in a competition of cleverness and insults.  MC’s test their skills in rhyme and reason by spiting bar after bar until his opponent drops out or was dissed so bad he would not continue. Rap battles as we know them today originally started on the East coast in the early early in the 70’s.
