Dance music has always been huge in Latin America, a lot more commercially accepted in Latin America than it is in the US. Female vocalists and dance music go together like peanut butter and jelly with two slices of bread. It’s an ideal pairing. Although Dilorentys isn’t yet a star, her work ethics are quickly helping her make a name for herself in Venezuela. She has gained some recognition by touring schools, radio stations, TV as well as headlining shows.

Last week Dilorentys released her new music video “Se Lo Que Quieras Ser” which follows up the music video “Déjate Llevar” which featured rapper Mestiza MC. Dejate Llevar which was released earlier this year, back in January and is the song by which I was introduced to Dilorentys and her music. Se Lo Que Quieras Ser picks up right where “Déjate Llevar” left off. Dilorentys builds on substance behind single’s message and is aiming at delivering a positive don’t give up on your dreams message to the youth. The song is a cool, uplifting track that will get your mom on board and jamming out to Dilorentys’s music.

When I listen to Dilorentys’ music I can’t to be reminded of the Mexican EDM / Pop artist Fey. I would like to see Dilorentys move and expand the production style of her music, because as it stands right now, yes I will listen to it, yes if it starts playing at the club I would dance, but not yet convinced that I would buy an entire album from her. There is no doubt that Dilorentys has the elements of what to gain mainstream attention. She is young, beautiful and hardworking. Dilorentys is marketable.
