She is young, beautiful, motivated and talented. Desiree Estrada is a East Los Angeles native singer, songwriter, and actress that is ready to take her music on national mainstream level. She is a young Mexican-American that has creativity in her blood. Desiree grew up watching both her Grandfather and father build their artistic talents.
Performing, singing and dancing since childhood at both her school and church choir Desiree’s life has been filled up with music. Inspired by her family Desiree found her musical influences in artists such as Sade, Camila, Cafe Tacuba and Prince Royce. She has already had the opprutunity to preform her music on some of the highest rated nationally syndicated music TV shows like B.E.T’s 106 & Park.
Desiree’ passion and love for her culture has drove her to record music in english, spanish, and spanglish. The sounds ranging in from Latin to pop, R&B and dance. Desiree professionally started recording her music with Leticia Ascencio and together they recorded “Cada dia es Navidad” and “Te Dare”.
There is no doubt at all that Desiree has made a strong impression on the Latin Music community, being spotted on the Green carpet at the Latin Grammy’s, and the Red Carpet at the Latin Billboards, as well as being named “Best Dressed” by Telemundo. in as she promotes the release of her version of “Don’t Speak” that has already hit the Los Angeles Radio Airwaves. She was invited to the Dominican Republic to sing at the International Bachata Festival and shared the stage with the greatest bachata legends and influences, such as Luis Vargas, Yoskar Sarante, Elvis Martinez, Luis Miguel Del Amarge, and many more.
From what I hear Desiree’ debut album will be filled with a range of musical styles. Styles that reflect her East Los Angeles upbringing. Sounds from bachata to pop, to R&B and even an electronic dance song that’s set to he single. The song is said produced by the Muzik Junkies entitled “OYE” which also features Angel Lopez (ex-Son By Four vocalist). Although I do agree that a dance single is the way to go, specially trying to break her to mainstream radio. However, I would have preferred hear her on a song produced by someone like Glenn Gutierrez (Angelina, Jocelyn Enriquez, Stevie B, etc). You see in late 90’s there was an wave of Latin influenced electronic dance music hit on the radio and although not limited to, most were performed by English and bilingual speaking young American Latinos. Then radio took a turn in it’s sound and went Rap, causing dance music to fall off the mainstream radar. I feel that there is a huge opportunity for an artist like Desiree Estrada to fill that void in today’s market. Desiree sounds amazing doing her bachata, slow songs and R&B, but it is just so much easier to break into radio with a dance song these days. Either way, one thing is for sure When it comes to both talent and qualities Desiree Estrada does not fall short.
Desiree’s next single “I’d Like to Be” / “Quisiera Ser” will be made available June 3rd
