[Dance / Urban] INDIO Releases Toy Selectah Interview As Part of Their Uno En Un Millón Campaign
Over the last few years the Mexican beer company INDIO has become aggressively getting involved in a wide mix of music artists, concerts and sporting events. In 2013 indio kicked off their 120 year celebration which went well into 2014. They produced specials music documentary with some of the biggest, most important names of Mexico’s underground scene.
Now fast forward to 2015 and Indio incredibly increased their presence, not only online but has archived visibility like the likes of Red Bull. Celebrating their million likes on Facebook they launched a series of interviews with legends and released them via the company’s YouTube channel; with one of the first ones being producer / DJ /musician / A&R, Toy Selectah.
The mix-master wizard for Monterrey Mexico’s Hip Hop en Español Pioneers Control Machete, created a whole new hybrid by mixing Mexican soundscapes with contemporary urban riddims. Toy has has been working with a long list of artist, bands and contemporary music friends as: Calle 13, M.I.A., Thievery Corporation, Cypress Hill, Manu Chao, Café Tacvba, Don Omar, Gustavo Cerati, Ely Guerra, Juanes, Julieta Venegas, Alejandro Sanz, Eminem, Caballeros del Plan G, and División Minúscula among others. Most recently Mr. Selectah played a key role in the development and success of the Latin Grammy winning group 3BallMTY.
Early in the month of December Toy revealed an advance of his new Compass duet project with Camilo Lara of The Mexican Institute of Sound. They leaked the song “La Llama” as a FREE download with the first official single due to hit radio, TV and the web sometime in April.
