It was just two days ago that Caballeros del Plan G released a new “Soy Yo” music video; one of the classic songs off of the group’s debut album “Abriendo Puertas” and the video immediately went viral on the internet. After all how could it not; CplanG are considered legends and pioneers of Mexico’s Hip Hop movement. They are often referred to as a Mexican Wu tang Clan. However it would appear the new music video was just the start for Caballeros del Plan G.  Today they re released their 2008 album “Estrategas” making it available in digital stores like iTunes for the very first time.

Up until original release of “Estrategas” rumors had flooded the internet with speculation that the group had broken up.  After all after “Abriendo Puertas” in 2001 there group did not release any new albums and found themselves occupied with side projects. Serko Fuentes joined Ex Control Machete DJ & Producer Toy Selectah in his new adventure Sonidero Nacional. On the flip side DJ Jonta jointed Pato Machete and his new band Contrabanda; while Metodo had changed his name to Indho and released a solo album with a Los Angeles based label.

If that wasn’t enough to confused the group’s fans as it is, then maybe Sekreto’s debut album would seal the deal. Although he is actually not an official member of the group fans have always been confused of whether or not he is an actual member of the Caballeros del Plan G. After all he has participated in the make of every album since the group’s inception and continues to do so to this day.

Then came 2008 and Caballeros del Plan G would finally put an end to all the speculations by releasing the album Estrategas and having the new classic “GL Castiga” as the albums lead single. This was big news at the time, CplanG had retrned. It was even news for those who do not call themselves Caballeros fans, because quite frankly it is simply impossible for anybody in Mexico to call themselves a Hip Hop fan and not have a deep, passionate love for songs like “La Remezcla” or “MC Infalsificables”.
